It was a great day to get out. The kids were starting to get on each others nerves and well I had more then enough of their arguments. So we grab our stuff and go to a new hike trail because we have a pass to go to any park so why not be adventurous

We started off on a wrong foot and had no trail so the kids got a little frustrated after all there was running to do and things to find. We were on a mushroom hike meaning we had to find as many different mushrooms as we could so I can take a picture. The kids love finding them and get a bigger kick if I take a photo.

We in all ended up walking 2.3 miles on what was deemed a “more difficult” trail. It took almost three hours so don’t even think we were going at break neck speed. It was full of muck which of course Little Man loved. It had a huge hornet’s nest which M2 stepped on and thankfully only got a small sting. Little Bit rode on my back for most of it singing “We are driving” for most of it.

The kids ran and ran for the first mile and a half then they were tired. They did only a bit of whining but considering that they had walked up and down several large hills it really was to be expected. Finding diamonds on the trees (trail markers) and mushrooms on the path kept them so busy they didn’t even notice how VERY long it was. We stopped for dinner and they ate like it was their job. Everyone scarfed their food down and drank many glasses of water. They were good though and remembered their manners throughout.

Came home to showers and quick good nights. I think the girls were asleep by the time I walked downstairs from tucking Little Man in and Little Man was asleep by the time I hit the bottom stairs. Definitely a wonderfully successful day!!!
